Complete Notes for VALORANT Update 9.06
Universal Changes Across All Devices
Agent Adjustments
- Changes were introduced to agent abilities related to wall interactions with specific maps. For example, the glass window interaction on Ascent no longer breaks by Chamber's Trademark, Cypher's Trapwire, or Killjoy's Lockdown if set too close. Meanwhile, High Tide by Harbor doesn’t disrupt the glass due to the nature of its casting, differing from Blaze by Phoenix and Fast Lane by Neon, which only break windows upon initial casting contact.
- Auditory cues for Brimstone’s Orbital Strike and Vyse’s Steel Garden have transitioned from direct agent focus to a spatially adjusted sound that hints toward the danger’s origin, helping players better discern escape routes.
Gameplay System Modifications
- In a bid to refine match endings, the draw voting mechanism now omits AFK players, ensuring active participants have a deciding say.
Map Enhancements
- On Haven, placing Vyse’s Arc Rose and Cypher’s Trapwire on crates has been streamlined, providing more intuitive placement opportunities.
Behavioral System Improvements
- Riot Games has expanded penalties for voice and text communication abuses, targeting habitual offenders for a healthier social environment. Multiple violations lead to harsher penalties to improve player interactions.
Social System Upgrades
- The voice chat system has seen a reliability boost—disruptions are now followed by automatic reconnections, minimizing in-game communication losses.
Weapon Innovations
- Weapon clarity is enhanced by including skin names in the in-game switcher. Players can now easily identify weapon skins on their HUD during battles.
Resolution of Bugs
Agents
- Several agent-related issues were corrected: persistent activation bugs in Deadlock’s Sonic Sensors; Cypher’s Trapwire damage vulnerabilities; and looping behaviors in Gekko’s Wingman attempting to engage unreachable targets.
- Additional fixes tackled Yoru's Fakeout, Breach’s and Sova’s abilities concerning Vyse’s Shear, and misplaced effects with Vyse’s Arc Rose and Razorvine.
Cosmetics
- A correction in the animation height of the Nocturnum Scythe ensures it no longer hovers above the agent model.
Gameplay Systems
- Updates addressed discrepancies in the Combat Report, including missing text when an ally is downed and text alignment issues with Arabic language settings.
Maps
- On Breeze, an anomaly where bullets didn't penetrate an open mechanical door at A Switch was fixed.
Adjustments for PC Users Only
Gameplay Systems
- First-time players now receive tutorial tips, which they can toggle off in the settings.
Social Functionality
- Expanded player blocking options now include text, voice communications, and block invitations or requests from problematic users, enhancing personal control over interactions.
Console Exclusive Updates
Gameplay Systems
- Console players can now adjust mega map cursor sensitivity using a new input curve setting to cater to different control preferences.
- Specific adjustments target individual agent abilities such as Brimstone's Sky Smoke and Clove's Ruse to refine operational handling.
- Aim assist removal on abilities not intended for player targeting addresses inadvertent targeting issues.
Map Rotation
- The introduction of Fracture to Unrated & Swift Play queues completes the map roster, offering console players the full gamut of VALORANT’s environments.
