League of Legends Aurora Skills Explained

Aurora, champion #168 in League of Legends, is soon to make her debut. Known for her agility and unique magical abilities, she promises to bring a fresh dynamic to the game.

Her skills set her apart, emphasizing spirit magic and mobility, which makes her a strong contender in mid-lane battles. The anticipation surrounding her release is palpable among players eager to explore her full potential.

Aurora, The Witch Between Worlds

Aurora, the newest addition to League of Legends, is crafted to be a nimble mage with a primary focus on mid-lane dominance and secondary adaptability in the top lane.

Aurora features a three-hit passive ability that bolsters her healing and boosts movement speed as she continuously triggers it throughout the match. Her Q ability stands as her main tool for clearing waves, applying poke damage, and inflicting overall harm to enemies.

Aurora’s W ability provides a defensive mechanism, allowing her to reposition safely or retreat from perilous situations. Meanwhile, her E ability delivers AoE damage and a slowing effect, enhancing her ability and the team's chances to land subsequent spells on foes effectively.

Her ultimate ability is the highlight of her skill set. It creates an expansive circle which greatly slows enemies within. Upon touching the edge, Aurora is teleported to the opposite side, giving her a strategic advantage. If enemies touch the edge, they are pulled slightly towards the center, increasing potential for control and damage.

Aurora Skills

Passive – Spirit Abjuration

Wayward spirits are attracted to Aurora. When she hits an enemy three times with her abilities and attacks, she performs an exorcism. This exorcism deals a percentage of the enemy’s maximum health as magic damage and releases a spirit. The freed spirit boosts Aurora's healing every second and grants her Spirit Mode, which increases her movement speed for a brief period. The more spirits she has following her, the faster she moves.

Q – Twofold Hex

Aurora sends a burst of cursed energy in a specified direction, inflicting magic damage on struck enemies and marking them with spirit energy.

Recast: Aurora reabsorbs the spirit energy, dealing additional magic damage to enemies it passes through based on their missing health.

W – Across the Veil

Aurora leaps in a chosen direction. Upon landing, she becomes invisible and enters Spirit Mode momentarily. If she scores a takedown on an enemy champion within three seconds of damaging them, the cooldown for „Across the Veil“ resets.

E – The Weirding

Aurora opens a portal to the spirit realm, unleashing a surge of spirit magic that deals magic damage in an area and applies a temporary slow. The blast also slightly knocks Aurora back.

R – Between Worlds

Aurora creates a rift to the spirit world, emitting a wave of spirit energy that deals magic damage and slows enemies in its path. The affected area temporarily merges with the spirit world, granting Aurora enhanced Spirit Mode with doubled bonuses. She can traverse from one end of the area to the other by crossing the rift's boundary. Enemies attempting to cross are slowed and pushed back towards the center. Aurora can end this effect early by recasting the ability.
