When did Dota 2 release?

Dota 2 is the sequel to Defense of the Ancients, a mod created for Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. The game centers on matches between two teams of five players, each aiming to control the map. Victory is achieved by destroying the opponent's throne.
