Destiny 2's new release, Act 3 of Episode Heresy, unveils an exciting piece of content highly sought after by players: the Target Lock Exotic Catalyst for the Barrow-Dyad. This addition has stirred interest particularly among fans of submachine guns, owing to its unique features. While previous catalysts like High-Impact Reserves and One For All have their own appeal, Target Lock presents a distinct advantage that is drawing attention from the community.

Securing the Target Lock Catalyst requires players to navigate a series of challenging steps. Completion of The Nether's secrets in the Hatchling catalyst quest is essential, along with progressing through the Mission Dossiers as part of the Heresy Act 3 storyline. These tasks demand both skill and dedication, making the reward all the more rewarding.

Acquiring the Target Lock Enhancement for the Barrow-Dyad

Step 1: Solve the Hive Rune Puzzle and Eliminate the Concealed Blight at The Founts

To undertake this mission, players should focus on The Nether activities in Explore mode. The journey can be expedited with companions, but it's feasible solo. As players navigate The Nether, they will arrive at The Founts, where a giant Hive cryptolith will stand at the center surrounded by three runes. The runes correspond to certain Hive doorways above, with some additional symbols scattered near these doors.

To proceed, players must identify and shoot the correct three symbols in any sequence. Success is indicated by the spawning of a chest and a message noting a discovery within the Dreadnaught. After collecting the rewards, players must search for a small plate displaying a Hive symbol, often found on a pillar near the chest but sometimes on other pillars or coffins in the room.

Shooting this symbol opens a door near the chest, leading into a labyrinth filled with enemies. Here, a debuff called Suffocating Terror will begin counting down. Players must locate and destroy a Taken Blight before the debuff timer expires. Completion rewards include the first Coalescence of the [Knife].

Step 2: Track the Blight in Hull Breach and Vanquish the Taken Boss

After unraveling The Founts secrets, players should start a fresh instance of The Nether with the aim of reaching Hull Breach, ideally accessed from Heresy Act 3. If Hull Breach is not the initial spawn point, players may need to complete earlier rooms until it appears.

Within Hull Breach, a blue Cabal banner located opposite the main boss marks a key spot. If the previous step was completed, a Toland orb will appear by the banner. Interacting with it will summon Skyburner's Grudge, a formidable Taken opponent.

Upon defeating this enemy, players receive the Legion Code, crucial for accessing the next section.

Step 3: Utilize the Legion Code to Unlock the Door

The Legion Code allows entry past an orange Cabal barrier found below the platform where the blue banner resides. With the code, players can unlock the door to discover a random Minor Boon alongside the second Coalescence of the [Knife].

Step 4: Retrieve the Crossed Blades Tithe in Hull Breach and Initiate the Quest

The next action involves moving across Hull Breach to uncover a shadowy entrance near two illuminated pillars. This pathway contains a chest and an interactive panel designated as the Crossed Blades Tithe. Interaction with this panel is possible if both Coalescence items have been acquired.

Activating this panel opens a portal leading to chests containing the Warped Osseous Spine, exchangeable for the Exotic Catalyst quest at the Shaping Slab in Eris Morn’s Apartment within the Last City.

Step 5: Gather All 10 Ravenous Wormspawn

While in Eris Morn's Apartment, players should switch to the Path of Resolve to detect Ravenous Wormspawn within The Nether more easily. Re-enter The Nether to collect these entities, visible on the mini-map as players approach. If eight Wormspawn have been secured earlier, the final two are typically located in Hull Breach at the map's farthest points.

Step 6: Complete the Derealize Exotic Mission with Barrow-Dyad in Use

The final mission involves completing the Derealize Exotic task with Barrow-Dyad equipped. Success in this mission results in obtaining the Target Lock enhancement, which can be applied to the Barrow-Dyad at The Enclave.
