How to Smuggle Resources

In Assassin's Creed Shadows, players are introduced to a challenging side quest known as „Smuggler's Run.“ This quest is crucial for gathering resources necessary for the Hideout's enhancement. Contrary to initial impressions, obtaining these resources is not a straightforward task, as they are securely hidden within enemy territory.

To successfully navigate this quest, players must infiltrate an enemy base and access a locked building. It's essential to have a Scout ready to transport the acquired goods. This task requires careful planning and execution to avoid detection and ensure that the resources are transported safely to the Hideout.

Smuggling Resources in Assassin's Creed Shadows

In Assassin's Creed Shadows, smuggling resources is a strategic task that can be performed anywhere on the map. Targets for this activity are not easily visible, so players need to know where to look. Many find that castles in the starting region of Izumu Settsu, such as Katano and Osaka Castle, offer ideal opportunities. These areas are heavily guarded, with numerous patrols treating players as hostiles.

When approaching castles, the goal is to locate small, locked buildings scattered throughout the grounds. These buildings house valuable resources. By utilizing the „Observe“ feature (holding the right-click on PC), players can scan their surroundings to identify resources and mark nearby enemies. Look for loot icons shaped like barrels, which indicate the presence of smuggle-worthy materials inside these locked buildings.

Accessing these buildings requires some finesse. There are two main approaches: waiting for a guard to unlock the door or finding a key nearby. Often, keys can be located quite close, visible on boxes or inside adjacent buildings. Using the Observe ability can point out key icons to guide players in the right direction.

Once inside a building, the objective is to gather as many resources as possible. The key items are wood pallets stacked with materials. Approaching these pallets prompts the „Smuggle Resources“ option to appear, indicating the need for a Scout. This option will appear in white if a Scout is available and greyed out if not. Having a Scout is imperative to move the resources to safer locations.

Ensuring the availability of a Scout is crucial for successful resource smuggling. Without this figure, players cannot initiate the smuggling process, which could halt progress in the game. Remaining vigilant and carefully managing Scout assignments will help in efficiently moving resources and completing objectives within Assassin's Creed Shadows.

This task involves a mixture of stealth, resourcefulness, and strategic planning, making it an engaging aspect of gameplay. Players need to balance caution with quick thinking to outmaneuver guards and successfully capture valuable resources.

Completing Smuggler's Run in Assassin's Creed Shadows

In Assassin's Creed Shadows, undertaking the Smuggler's Run quest requires careful management of your resources and personnel, particularly Scouts. To engage in this mission, players must ensure that two Scouts are ready. If they are tied up with other objectives, players will have to wait until they are available. To increase their chances of success, players can recruit additional Scouts, allowing for more flexibility and efficiency in operations.

Once the Scouts are available and players are prepared to execute the task, interacting with the „Smuggle Resources“ button will trigger the next step. Naoe, a character in the game, will highlight the necessary resources. After some time, a Scout retrieves these resources and delivers them back to the Hideout, contributing valuable materials for building and enhancing structures.

Completing the Smuggler's Run quest successfully enables ongoing resource acquisition. As long as players have available Scouts, they can continue to gather resources, supporting the expansion and fortification of their Hideout. This mechanism offers a strategic advantage in resource management and development.
