Best Train Smokes

As the iconic Train map makes its debut in Counter-Strike 2, players are faced with the opportunity to gain an edge through strategic smoke placements. This map has long been awaited by the community, eager to explore and master its intricacies. Newcomers and veterans alike must quickly adapt to ensure their team holds the tactical advantage.

Understanding how to effectively smoke key areas can significantly alter the flow of a match, offering both strategic cover and confusion for the opponent. Whether competing at a high level or enjoying casual play, mastering these techniques is essential for success.

CS2: Optimal Smokes for Train

A Site – Z Connector (Jump Throw)

  • Position yourself at the corner of the green train in T-Spawn.
  • Align your crosshair with the building in front.
  • Perform a jump throw by holding Mouse 1 and releasing it as you jump.

This strategic smoke blocks the view from Z Connector, impairing any Counter-Terrorists attempting to assist their teammates at A site. It often provokes a response from defenders, possibly drawing them away from their positions, especially useful for diverting attention from site B attackers.

A Site – Longdog (Standard Throw)

  • Ascend the green dumpster in T-Spawn, ensuring you're positioned on the left side.
  • Aim your crosshair slightly above the building ahead.
  • Execute a standard throw with Mouse 1.

The remodel of Popdog to Longdog has maintained its status as a key defensive spot. Smokes at Longdog force defenders here to either venture into the open to provide support or remain concealed until the smoke lifts, facilitating a potential bomb plant.

A Site – Ivy Approach (Jump Throw)

  • Stand before the scarred bollard in T-Spawn.
  • Target the building directly in front.
  • Complete a jump throw.

Utilizing this smoke obstructs the line of sight for defenders positioned at Ivy, compelling them to adjust their stance if they wish to offer aid to teammates. This creates a brief window of opportunity, crucial for advancing through T Main towards A site.

B Site – Left Bomb Placement (Standard Throw)

  • Take your position by the right section of the shattered window leading to B site.
  • Reference the aligned target from the illustration.
  • Perform a standard throw with Mouse 1.

Coupled with an additional smoke at the entrance of B tunnels, this tactic provides extensive cover, facilitating a swift bomb plant and enabling teams to prepare for subsequent defensive positions.

These strategies equip players with the necessary tools to control key positions on Train, enhancing both offensive and defensive plays. Experimenting with these smokes in various scenarios will uncover new ways to outmaneuver opponents, adding layers to competitive gameplay.
